The Texas Supreme Court, in December 16, 2011, reversed a lower court ruling in favor of Shell Oil Company et al, as Petitioners, in an interesting case where the plaintiff sued Shell Oil claiming that the oil company had underpaid on lease royalties using a scheme which was purposely designed to prevent the lessor, a trust of the Ross family, from discovering the underpayment until the statute of limitations had run out. Mr. Beiter also represents clients in virtually all aspects of energy and environmental transactions and regulatory compliance. Mr. Beiter's extensive background in the energy industry enables him to provide sound counsel regarding litigation risk avoidance claims evaluation and litigation strategy. It also provides him with the ability to understand and clearly present both the business and technical aspects of his clients' interests.

Mr. Beiter has served as Chairman to the Oil, Gas & Energy Resource Law Committee of the Texas State Bar, Chairman of the Global Oil & Gas Exploration and Production Committee; and the Environmental Litigation Committee of The American Bar Association's Section on Natural Resource and Environmental Law. Mr. Beiter is a sustaining member of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, American Association of Petroleum Landman and South Texas Geological Society.
